What base nutrition does
Base nutrition provides the primary mineral framework the crop relies on through each stage of growth. In CANNA systems, the A & B base is selected around the substrate and crop stage, such as Coco A & B or Substra Vega/Flores A & B.
What additives are for
Additives are supporting tools with narrower roles. Depending on the product, they may support root development, generative performance or a specific phase of the crop. Their value is highest when the core nutrient and irrigation program is already stable.
Why more products are not automatically better
Adding more inputs increases complexity. Every extra product affects mixing, EC, inventory, staff training and repeatability. Professional facilities usually benefit from a program that is clear enough to execute consistently.
Start with the system, then refine
Choose the correct base nutrient for the substrate first, establish a repeatable irrigation and EC/pH routine, then evaluate whether supporting products address a real facility objective.
Keep the program measurable
Changes should be made one variable at a time where possible. Record the crop stage, EC/pH, irrigation changes, product timing and plant response so the facility can learn from each cycle.
